In Service of Seniors and Their Companions:
Our Role in the Circle of Care
WHAT DOES THE MALLY NETWORK DO?
The Mally Network serves as both a programmatic and fundraising arm in partnership with larger nonprofits that support elder pet guardianship and related causes. Through these collaborations, we provide direct services while also raising targeted funds to sponsor adoption fees, assist with foster transitions, and help maintain meaningful connections between seniors and their beloved pets.
In short, we work to:
● Help older adults navigate pet relinquishment with dignity
● Raise funds to offset adoption fees
● Reduce time spent in shelters or prevent shelter intake altogether
● Connect pets to loving new homes
● Coordinate temporary care
● Support continued connection between pets and their previous guardians
We are facilitators, not animal caretakers.
Are you a rescue or a shelter?
No. We do not house or rescue animals.
At this time, we don’t handle:
● Taking animals into our custody
● Managing a facility
● Providing veterinary care
Instead, we serve as connectors, fundraisers, and advisors, working with existing nonprofit shelters, rescues, boarding facilities, and foster networks.
Do you house or transport animals?
No. We never assume ownership or custody of animals.
Transport—when needed—is handled by
● Surrendering guardians or their caretakers
● Fosters or adopters
● Established shelters, rescues, or boarding facilities
● Trusted third-party volunteers or partners
Do you offer veterinary or training services?
We do not offer medical, grooming, or training services. However, we love to connect families with low-cost clinics and reliable resources in the community.
Can seniors stay in touch with their rehomed pets?
Yes—when all parties agree.
We offer flexible options for continued connection, including
● In-person visits
● Phone or video calls
● Letters and photo updates
● Animal transportation coordination (case-by-case)
● Transportation of former guardians
How do you raise funds?
We focus on simple, community-based fundraising to:
● Sponsor adoption fees
● Offset boarding expenses
● Cover basic rehoming-related costs
● Raise awareness of the senior-pet bond
Our efforts include online campaigns, grant writing, donation drives, and local events.
What legal protections are in place?
To protect all involved and reduce liability:
● We use signed waivers for every surrender, adoption, and visitation
● We never take legal custody of or transport any animal
● We clearly define responsibilities and expectations
Why is this work important?
Many seniors face tough transitions—and parting with a beloved pet is often the hardest.
We help by:
● Centering the aging population
● Decreasing shelter trauma
● Offering peace of mind
● Ensuring beloved pets go to homes full of love, not fear
● Fostering ongoing connection between senior guardians and adoptive families
Because love shouldn’t end at goodbye.
How can I get involved?
We’re always looking for:
● Senior care collaborators
● Partner shelters, rescues, and boarding facilities
● Volunteers & donors
